Indian Institute of Welding is entrusted in the mission of promoting welding science & technology in India. Established in 1966, with its registered office at Kolkata, IIW has over 4500 welding professionals and more than 300 industries as members who are contributing their expertise for the development of welding fraternity. From the year 2007, IIW India by taking a new dimension as an Authorised National Body (ANB) of International Institute of Welding for training and certification of welding professionals in India.
The BEST WELDER competitions of IIW were started in 2007 and this year also IIW will hold its 11th annual competition for the Best Welder. The National Level Competition will be held between the winners of the Branch level competitions at Kolkata in the 2nd week of December 2016. The awards will be presented at the IIW National Welding Seminar on 15th December 2016 at Kolkata.
The Chennai Branch of the Indian Institute of Welding will hold the competition to choose the BEST WELDERS in the categories (Pipe Welder & Structural Welder, with SMAW & MIG-CO2 processes) i.e
- Structural welder - SMAW Process – 4 G Position, Carbon Steel
- B. Structural Welder - MIG – CO2 Process – 3 G Position, Carbon Steel
- C. Pipe Welder - SMAW Process – 6 G Position, Carbon Steel
to participate in the National Level competition. The Branch Level competition will be
held on 12th November, 2016 (Saturday) at M/s Kemppi India Pvt Ltd., Lakshmi
