Options include manual, synergic, and pulse welding, creating the assembly that fits your needs, wheater welding applications include steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. Setup can be completed with SuperSnake GTX sub-feeding system for hard-to-reach welding environments, transport unit, remote control, and interconnection cables of various lengths.

Touch Sense Ignition (TSI) ensures fast and precise ignition and minimizes spatter. Challenging welding applications can be tackled with MAX and Wise special welding processes, developed with over 70 years of experience in arc welding.

Over 30% lower heat input

MAX Cool lowers heat input by up to 32%, improving control where excessive temperatures negatively impact weld pool stability and increase joint distortion. MAX Cool is the ideal solution for a variety of applications, including thin sheet fabrication, root welding, gap bridging, and joining thin extruded sections in solid Fe, Ss, CuAl8, and CuSi3 filler materials

More control on weld pool in position welding

MAX Position helps to manage the gravitational effects on a molten weld pool. MAX Position improves control and confidence when working in position, and is excellent when filling and capping in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum applications in the PF position.

Up to 70% faster welding travel speed

MAX Speed increases welding travel speed by up to 70%* compared to traditional pulse or spray arc processes. MAX Speed produces clean, quality weld seams, effectively reducing labor time and welding cost. MAX Speed is designed for steel and stainless steel welding applications in the PA and PB positions. Note:(*) Maximum travel speeds measured for automated and semi-automated Ss applications. Speed reductions apply for manual welding applications and Fe material.

Precise ignition and stable arc control

The latest ignition technology, Touch Sense Ignition, is featured as standard in all available models. Arc control can be further optimized with optional welding programs and Wise special processes: WiseSteel, WiseFusion, and WisePenetration+.

An excellent choice for steel welding, WiseSteel tackles the challenges of globular arc range by alternating between short arc and spray transfer. In short-circuit transfer, WiseSteel improves the arc stability adaptively, providing better out-of-position steel welding capabilities. In spray transfer mode, micropulsing of current and voltage increases travel speed significantly.

25% faster welding

WiseFusion produces a very narrow and energy-dense arc that allows welding at a significantly higher speed without the risk of undercut. WiseFusion is up to 25% faster than conventional synergic 1-MIG and pulsed MIG, and it also facilitates weld pool control in position welding. Adaptive arc length regulation eliminates the need for constant parameter adjustment.

Invariable weld penetration

WisePenetration+ ensures weld penetration regardless of variation in stick-out length and keeps the welding current stabilized in all situations by actively adjusting the wire feed.

Productive root pass welding

WiseRoot+ offers more productive root pass welding. Real-time voltage measuring, current control and right on time filler metal droplet releasing ensure excellent weld quality.

Productive position welding

WiseThin+ gives excellent welding characteristics for position welding in thicker plates.

Intelligent narrow gap welding

Reduced Gap Technology (RGT)

Reducing the groove angle can add significantly to the efficiency and productivity of welding of heavy metal structures. Kemppi’s solution, Reduced Gap Technology (RGT), allows reliable and efficient narrow gap welding with no need for special equipment or accessories for material thicknesses of up to 30 mm. WisePenetration+ is needed to enable the use of RGT with the X5 FastMig.
